Jackie Gowder, Assistant Principal at Richmond High School in the West Contra Costa Unified School District

Ms. Gowder has 13 years experience as a bilingual teacher and administrator and has worked in several school districts including Hayward Unified, Pittsburg Unified, and West Contra Costa Unified. She has been honored for teaching excellence with the Math Teacher of the Year Award from the Contra Costa and Alameda Counties Math Educators Association. Additionally, she also served on the Pittsburg Unified Project Team that developed the district plan for the English Language Development Program. She holds several teaching credentials/certificates including a Preliminary Administration Service Credential, a Multiple Subject Bilingual, Crosscultural, Language and Academic Development Clear Credential, and a State Supplementary Authorization in Spanish and Business Certificate. Her educational studies have included time abroad—studying internationally in Spain and Italy. She has a BA in Economics from UC Santa Cruz.
